Saint-Cyr-l’École — Proengin has reached a new milestone in embedded and stand-off CBRN detection with the integration of its next-generation AP4C+ detector onto the TUNDRA 2 drone from Hexadrone. This achievement is part of a robust strategy focused on remote, connected, and interoperable detection capabilities in support of forces.

A strategic continuity in vectorization

This integration continues the trajectory already undertaken by Proengin, with its detectors mounted on heavy robots, light platforms, aerial drones, and larger assets such as ships, vehicles, and critical infrastructures. The company is confirming its shift toward CBRN systems that are mobile, interoperable, and ready for operational deployment.

Recently validated during field trials conducted with the French Armed Forces, the solution meets operational needs in reconnaissance, threat assessment, area protection, and support—without exposing personnel directly.

With this integration, we’re not just putting a detector in the air—we’re connecting the mission to the threat environment. When the AP4C+ transmits live data through PROENGIN SHIELD, you’re no longer piloting a drone — you’re supervising the CBRN situation. Thanks to the open architecture and plug-and-play accessories, deploying airborne detection becomes almost child's play.” — Xavier Vanhaecke, Systems Director, Proengin

Two major innovation pillars

1. Integration accessories for multi-drone compatibility with open communication protocols

Proengin has developed new integration accessories and a universal interface module enabling the AP4C+ to be mounted on a wide range of platforms. This advancement also includes a next-generation inlet and deflector system that preserves detection performance in the presence of airflow and movement, ensuring consistent sensitivity in mobile airborne environments.

2. PROENGIN SHIELD: the system innovation for real-time visualization, mapping, and data transmission

Beyond the physical integration of the detector, Proengin is deploying PROENGIN SHIELD, a complete system layer that provides real-time operational visualization, instant alert transmission, GPS tracking of the platform, and mapping of contaminated areas. Built on an open communication architecture, this solution also enables the integration and aggregation of additional sensors, strengthening interoperability and coordination of CBRN assets in the field.

This new capability will be showcased at Milipol 2025, on booth 5A M200. Visitors will be able to discover firsthand the system-level approaches developed by Proengin, which are transforming CBRN detection and protection through vectorization, interoperability, and real-time operational data exploitation. Meet our teams at the stand to explore these innovations at the heart of tomorrow’s missions.
